City Walls
Designed by: Benjamin Curtin

The work celebrates the richness, colors, noise, history, and textures of cities. Each piece deals with a different city that I have visited or lived in. The advertisements and graffiti that are found on city walls are a source of inspiration and are even used as material in the pieces. These ever-changing walls serve as a metaphor for a continually morphing and transforming urban environment with its residue, fragmentation, and collage. These ideas are translated into my work through layers of paper, paint, and writing.
