Tool Room Redesign - Rochdale Co-op
Designed and built by Benjamin Curtin
Year: 2024
This project was a redesign and reorganization of a tool room at the Rochdale Co-op. The existing tool room had a poor organizational strategy that made it difficult to find basic tools or parts and the workbench was a old dresser that was on the verge of collapse. I designed and built a new workbench that would hold plastic bins that organized parts into categories such as plumbing, electrical etc… Then I installed a peg board above the work bench to make it easier to find the most commonly used tools. The work bench was designed to fit within the space and took into consideration various pipes and other elements in the room. The project involved a lot of cleaning, sorting, and disposal old parts and tools.
